If you’re visiting Salt Lake City and want a local restaurant recommendation, here are some of our favorites:
Red Butte Café. Many a church small-group lunch and dinner meetings have been held here, just down the street. Classic casual dining.
1414 South Foothill Drive
Taqueria 27. More upscale than the typical taqueira, this eatery serves fancy, gourmet tacos. The veggie tacos come with . . . cactus.
1615 South Foothill Drive
Bombay House. Great Indian food and the winner of numerous local dining awards. (closed Sundays)
2731 Parleys Way
Blue Plate Diner. Lots of character in this kitschy-quirky dive in the funky part of town.
2041 South 2100 East
Worth a short drive
Even Stevens. Our young adult group has been known to caravan to this hip sandwich shop on Saturday nights.
2030 South 900 East
Sushi Groove. Vibrant sushi with graffiti walls. (closed Sundays)
2910 Highland Drive
Little Saigon. Simple and ultra casual, but really good. One of the few Vietnamese restaurants in the area offering truly vegetarian pho. (closed Sundays)
2021 Windsor Street
Mahider. Authentic Ethiopian, which means no utensils needed—making for a fun, delicious eating experience. (closed Mondays)
1465 South State Street, Suite 7
Eggs in the City. This buzzy eatery has a hip vibe and serves breakfast & brunch favorites.
